Increase the intake of Vitamin C
Vitamin C is essential to maintain the health of your teeth. If your gums are bleeding, vitamin C will act as a natural antibiotic and boost the healing process. Vitamin C also helps in keeping the gums healthy and protects them from gingivitis. Some of the natural sources of vitamin C include citrus fruits, guava, tomatoes, and mangoes. To prevent the spread of gingivitis, you must gargle with a solution of salt and water for at least 30 seconds every day. To make this solution, mix one spoon salt with 100 ml warm water and stir until the salt dissolves. You can also prevent gingivitis from spreading by gargling with mouthwash for at least 30 seconds every day.
Solution of baking soda and hydrogen peroxide
You can make this solution buy mixing baking soda with little water and adding 20ml hydrogen peroxide to it. This mixture will form a paste that you put in your brush and brush your teeth. This will prevent bacterial plaque from spreading with will prevent the growth of gingivitis. You can brush your teeth twice a week with the mixture of baking soda and hydrogen peroxide.
Yet another side effect of smoking is that it promotes the growth of gingivitis. When you smoke, the immune system of the body becomes weak which can trigger the growth of bacteria in the mouth. So avoid smoking if you want to keep your teeth healthy.
Visit your dentist
You must visit your dentist at least once in six months to get your teeth examined and find out the possible problems you can face. Your dentist will also suggest a few steps you can take to keep your teeth healthy. Visiting a dentist becomes even more important if you are suffering from gingivitis.
